Answers

  1. How much memory does the USB on the MY-BANDS wristband have?
  2. The USB hold 64MB of data. The current text file uses 8KB and the most extensive medical history would only fill up to about 50KB, leaving enough room to add 640 more of those files.

  3. Does MY-BANDS see personal information that I have input on my band or do I have to submit any personal records or forms to you?
  4. MY-BANDS does not have access to your information at anytime.

  5. What if I lose my band? Can anyone see all my personal information?
  6. Yes, anyone with computer access can see the information you input into the band. If you are unconscious or unable to communicate, a Doctor or First Response Team can access your life saving information, call you by name & locate an emergency contact for you. We recommend you do not include your Social Security Number, Home Address or Credit Card Numbers. You may want to consider not including you last name if it makes you comfortable.

  7. Is there software I have to download?
  8. No. There is no software to download or install.

  9. Can my Doctor or Pharmacist update my band for me?
  10. Yes, if they have a computer. Most health professionals must adhere to the guidelines detailed in Hipaa (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996) which outlines your privacy rights and the standards that covered entities must implement to protect and guard against the misuse of individually identifiable health information.

  11. What if I want to change colors of bands, do I have to buy a whole new band & re-input all my information?
  12. No, the great versatility about MY-BANDS is that you can change the color of the wristband simply by removing the current USB and placing it into the new band. You can purchase additional bands by calling MY-BANDS at (800) 793-0353.

  13. Is there a limit to the prescription information I can put on my band?
  14. No, you can list as many prescriptions as you like in the questionnaire. You would have to take 1000’s of prescriptions before you would run out of room.

  15. Can I save a back-up of the information for emergency purposes or share it with other family members?
  16. Yes, and we recommend you do this safety back-up to your computer hard drive, CD or memory stick. You are able to save your information to your computer and you are also able to email your file to other family members or whomever you feel is in need of this information. It is recommended you verify the integrity of your information on your wristband regularly as this is your specific proprietary information which you own and are responsible for maintaining.

  17. What if I accidentally erase the questionnaire?
  18. If you have a back-up it can be re-saved into your wristband. Our Technical Support Staff can also assist with questions and is available Mon-Fri. 8AM-5PM PST at 800-793-0353 or questions can be emailed to us at info@my–bandsonline.com

  19. Can I put X-rays, Medical Files, DNR’s and other important information on the band?
  20. Yes, as long as the records are scanned and in a digital format. We would recommend a universal format such as a pdf, jpeg or tiff file. In fact you can carry just about any computer files you care to in the memory space of the band.   21. What does water resistant mean?
  22. The wristbands are NOT waterproof & should not be submerged in water but general moisture does not hinder the device. If your device should become submerged in water make sure it is completely dry before plugging it into a USB port to verify the integrity of the contents.

  23. Are there monthly or additional fees?
  24. There are no additional fees with the MY-BANDS product.

  25. What computer requirements are needed to work the MY-BAND wristband?
  26. MY-BANDS are universal & compatible on windows based & Macintosh computers. They are also able to be read by the most basic of systems that have 2.0 USB port.
